Today I’m shouting about the very talented Laura Dixon, the absolute babe who designed our wedding stationary. I’ve known Laura for about 8 years now and long before Brett proposed I had the idea of asking Laura to do our wedding stationary (what can I say, this gal likes to be organised) In fact, if memory serves I think I contacted her the day after Brett proposed! I told you I liked to be organised…
Whilst there is an abundance of lovely wedding stationary out there these days what’s more special than having something completely bespoke created for you? Something you can cherish and will give your guests that first little insight into your wedding day. Laura’s illustration style is relaxed and pretty with a penchant for dreamy floral’s and botanical’s. I knew this would be perfect for us. We had a relaxed North London wedding in a Victorian pub with beautiful wild flowers speckled throughout. It wasn’t your traditional wedding and I wanted our stationary to reflect this, which it did! Laura delivered exactly the sort of thing we were looking for. We gave her our brief to begin with and eventually after plenty of back and forth correspondence and drafts it all started to come together. It was a lovely experience being involved in creating them and seeing what goes on behind the scenes, seeing those initial sketches eventually become the final product was really special.
All in Laura created our Save The Dates, Wedding Invites and RSVPs and finally the Thank You cards. Some of our guests loved the RSVPs so much they didn’t post them back to us so they could hold on to them (you know who you are!) Not that I can blame them. We’re just in the process of getting them framed so we can appreciate them for years to come. How many people would do that with shop bought stationary…amiright?
