A Living Room Tour

It’s been a few months since Brett and I moved into our new house (a sweet little victorian two bed) and we’re slowly but surely getting round to decorating! The living room was the first room we decorated as it’s where we spend most of our time (aka it’s where the TV is!)
I thought it would be fun to put together a little tour for you guys. I’m so so pleased with how it’s looking! Unfortunately I don’t have any ‘before’ snaps…but the room wasn’t all that hideous before, just imagine an empty room with cream walls!

Now clearly I have the best husband in the world as he agreed to let us paint the door into our dining room pink. Our living room walls are painted white and we have lots of gold accessories dotted around, so I wanted to do something to bring some subtle colour into the room. We deliberated for ages over which shade would work best, steering clear of anything too bold, we finally settled on this beautiful Old Rose shade from the Laura Ashley paint range.
As a finishing touch I thought this gold basket from H&M looked so cute with my favourite Anthropolgie throw bundled inside.

I love love love prints! They’re such a fun way to brighten up a room. This And They Live Happily Ever After print by Katie Leamon print is one of my favourites. We had it for ages before we moved so I was so excited to finally hang it. It’s such a cute print and makes me smile every time I see it. Plus the white and gold accents work so well with the rest of the decor in our living room.

Brett had been after this dreamy record player for ages. We also have one of the smaller briefcase style record players – but we both really wanted a standing one. I love the retro feel of it and the sound quality is a lot better than the smaller ones! Plus, stacked vinyl records are such a cool way of accessorising a room.

Although we don’t actually use this phone the second we spotted it in John Lewis we couldn’t resit. It’s such a fun little accessory and looks great sat by our window.

This armchair is one of my favourite pieces of furniture. It’s from IKEA and only £150!! I’ve seen so many similar styles for about five times the price so I’m over the moon we managed to grab such a bargain. I’ve tried styling it with a few different cushions and throws but everything I’ve tried seems to take away focus from the chair. It’s such a stylish piece I think it looks great on it’s own! What do you think?

If you follow me over on instagram you’ll have spotted a few of my ‘selfie’ snaps already. These floating shelves were the last addition to the room and I’m completely in love with them. I can’t believe how much of a difference they have made. I’m having so much fun dressing the shelves and buying cute little accessories. I absolutely adore this white geometric vase.

Just above our sofa we’ve hung some of our favourite wedding snaps. There’s actually only two up at the moment, though we will be hanging a third at some point we just can’t decide which one! I adore the frames, they give off such a laid back ‘gallery’ style feel – just the look we were going for.
Last but not least let’s talk about THE coffee table; a beautiful solid wood base with a dreamy marble top. It’s one of the priciest pieces of furniture I own but the quality is just superb, I know it will last me years! It’s such a great focal point and really brings the room together (plus it makes for a really good instagram flatly!)

So there we have it! I hope you guys enjoyed this post? I’m hoping to do a couple more once we get a few more rooms ticked off. Next off will be our kitchen which is currently in the process of being renovated (which I’m so SO excited about)…watch this space!
